View Latest Visitors (Need more information on this topic?)

You can easily view your web site's latest visitors using one of the available statistics software package in cPanel. To get started, follow the directions below.

Note: For our example, we are going to use the built-in "Latest Visitors" program.

1. Login to cPanel.

2. When the page loads, click on the "Latest Visitors" link in the Logs section.

3. Next, find the domain name you want to use when viewing the latest visitors in the "Domain" column. View our example (x3democ.cpx3demo.com) below.

4. Then click on the magnifying glass icon in the "View" column.

5. You will see a list of the latest visitors to the web site domain you chose in Step 3 above.

6. Let's take a closer look at the information available in the latest visitors report.

a. The first field you will see is the host IP address of the visitor:

b. Next you will see the directory or the file the visitor is viewing:

c. Underneath the directory or file name will show data similar to the following:

Http code: An "http code" is the status of the directory or file the visitor is trying to view. To view a complete list of codes and what each code means, please visit http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616-sec10.html.

Date: The "date" shows the month, day, and time the visitor viewed the directory or file on your web site.

Http Version: The http version is the latest version supported by the w3 organization. To learn more about http version, please visit http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html.

Size in Bytes: The "size in bytes" refers to the amount of space the directory or file is using on your web site.

d. The next line in the record will show data similar to the following:

Referer: The "referer" is the url of the web site or location the visitor clicked on prior to visiting the directory or file. Note that in our example below, the visitor directory did not click on a link to in order to get to the/cpanel directory.
